The Strange Tale of Panorama Island is the novel that inspired

to write/draw ROBOT LAND. It is about a man's hedonistic resort that he had first used as a failed novel's subject, but, after becoming a multimillionaire, he made a reality. Anyway, I recently stumbled across this newly drawn manga version of Ranpo's mystery (by Suehiro Maruo), & bought a copy. I found it a bit more complex than I had expected, but a good read. However, it does contain some rather naughty scenes of hedonistic pleasures. :d evil: +17 according to Amazon.
Anyway, I was a bit disappointed to learn that

borrowed only the very vaguest ideas from the story. He also made his amusement park kid-friendly, unlike the one in Ranpo's story in which kids are forbidden.
