mp3 vs wma, how funny!
Should I have gotten an Ipod instead?

Well, I still see mp3 players like mine at my local retail stores.

My MP3 player has no memory built in, I had to buy a separate SD memory card (like you use in digital cameras). Which is good, becuase I got to choose the capacity and I can upgrade it easily. Or have a separate flash card for different music.
I agree with Fafner, wma is proprietary so you're better off with MP3. Flac is probably overkill though since it's lossless, unless it has a lossy compression mode I don't know about.
If you really want to test your compression quality, see if you can download a raw recording of the THX surround sound. You know that one in the movies where the sound seems to come from around you then moves together? A poor encoding bitrate will make that sound more like bubbling water.

You're right, it is almost 5 times mp3 compression

I think I mixed with Ogg Vorbis
