I watched as much of Sailor Moon as I could find, I really enjoy the magic girls genre!

Here is my list:
  1. Melmo, #1 because she was the very first* magic girl.
  2. Cardcaptor Sakura, features cute critter as guide and recruiter
  3. Cutie Honey
  4. Fancy Lala
  5. Jubei Chan the Ninja Girl. She actually resembles Ultraman/ Hiyata, becuase she Nanohana Jiyu, and the spirit of Yagyu Jubei share her body, in much the same way as Hiyata & Ultraman share their life force.
  6. Figure 17. This could also be considered a power suit story, but has the magic girl element of the conversion from 2 seemingly identical twin little girls into one adult-form fighter.
  7. Moldiver. also a power suit type, & said to be Mihoshi's favorite anime.
  8. Magical Girl Pretty Sammy A short story which is a preview for "Magical Project S." Also features Mihoshi's storytelling skills in a separate Tenchi Muyo story.
  9. Magical Project S, a two disc series of Pretty Sammy's adventures. Both parody the Magic girl genre.
  10. Ground Defense Force! Mao-chan. The cutest, by far. Features Mi-kun, a 1:1 scale plastic model of a Tiger I.
  11. Princess Tutu. a cute little duckling that yearns to be human is transfomed into a little girl & then into title character.
  12. Puni Puni Poemy Funny as ****, but definately not for kids. Please do not discuss this title openly on this forum.

These are the ones that I have seen, there are others, though.

* Sally the Witch is reputed as the 1st Magical girl; however, I insist that this genre requires a metamorphosis, that, as I understand it, Sally lacks. :astro:

Here is Wikipedia's page listing titles in this genre

Dokkoida?! :d evil: Dokkoider (a translation of a much more detailed foreign Wikipedia page)could be a Magic girl story if it showed the transformation of one of its secondary characters, Asaka into Neruloid girl. Although the primary female character Kosuzu transforms into Tanpopo, she is the recruiter, and is therefore analoguous to the animals in the other series (such as the cats in Sailor Moon, and Keroberos in Cardcaptor). Dokkoida?! parodies more than a few stories and characters, including Space Pirate Captain Harlock. However, for robot fans, the character of interest is Kurika, an android that transforms into Clicker, a machine that has fighting c

Yea. The show was one of my first animes. Even though anime purists say it's the butchered version of Macross, I still can't help but calling the show Robotech and watching the version I use to watch. Oh man, I have the main theme in my head right now! Awesome...

Eddy: "What was that?" (pause) "I think its the sound of no one caring!"

Just kidding! :p I use to think the way you do, but once I actually sat down and watched it, it's a well written cartoon. It's definitely character and point driven show. And, as you can see my lists, I'm more for content than eye candy. ^^;

When will I ever stop disappearing for weeks at a time? ^^; I should post my Astro Boy sketches that I've been doing in the past few weeks... Thanks for the greeting! B)

Back on topic, here's more cartoons I like to watch (The "How-did-I-forget-this-show? List") :
Astro Boy (A capital How-Did-I-Forget-This! ^^; )
Casper the Friendly Ghost
G-Force
Gigantor
Homestar Runner (which isn't a broadcast show...)
Johnny Bravo (before the art and writing changed)
Rocky and Bullwinkle
Super Mario Super Show
Thunderbirds
Assorted Tex Avery cartoon shorts (I am still saddened, after years of being off air, of the absence of "Toon Heads" on Cartoon Network... )

Give me classic or retro cartoons and I'll be happy. ^_^ Now if only I could get most of these shows in these lists on DVD and not break the bank while buying them...

The cartoons that were my early favorites (I remember) in order were teddy Ruxpin, the real ghostbusters, and TMNT.

First anime I remember watching was ronin warriors (just bought my brother the box set for his birthday, over $100, he owes me! :d evil: ) I also remember loving sailor moon, but as a guy I will of course deny it.

I was also into all the super hero cartoons, from darkwing duck to batman.

And right now I'm getting back into futurama.

I'm too ashamed to list mine, as they are all old animes from my childhood.
