I was wrong about the codecs though. Of course you need the Xvid codec to play Xvid AVIs, and likewise for the other formats. I think any good player should be able to identify the file format by more than just the 4cc code. I'm not sure where VLC is going wrong, but I've heard it uses its own internal codecs.

I can watch it fine, I bought the DVD last year.
I was trying to help out Crazyd2000, and I'm interested in seeing the missing 30 seconds. I can play the DivX copy fine anyway.
