It's on June 12th (don't know why it's not June 25th). We still recognise the December 25th date used in the northern hemisphere, but not properly as Christmas and and only in more recent years with so much television from the US and UK. December 26th is Boxing Day here and we get a public holiday, and this pretty much lines up with December 25th in America since we're 17 hours ahead. B)
I think the Chinese have it on a different date too (or is that New Years?).
Now let me see if I undrestand you. You celebrate Christmas during June because Australia is upside-down (South of the Equator) & thus winter occurs there during Summer in the rightside-up part of the world.
