I've been a big fan of megaman ever since the 2nd Nintendo game came out. I never really got into Rockman EXE, mostly because I got really busy around the time it came out. I did play through the first GBA game.
Has anyone heard of the Rockman anime that was rejected in favor of the american Megaman cartoon? They made 3 episodes of it.
I moved them to the /misc/rockman/ directory on my FTP with some other Megaman videos if anyone's interested.

Yes, I have heard of it. I've never seen it though. :(

It's sorta edutainment oriented. While Dr. Wily's trying to take over Japan Megaman stays with a family there and learns about their customs and holidays. It was made just after Megaman 5 came out for the NES so it's drawn in the anime style adopted for that game. I'd guess it wasn't continued because it shows too much of the Japanese Shinto/Buddhism religions for the American TV networks to take a chance on showing it.

That's not what I heard. I thought those three episodes were not really related to what the US/Canadian version. They were to demonstrate the art style. If Ocean Group changed the format, then why also change the art style? I really think some traveling company or some one paid the animation studio to just create an educational mini series for whatever purpose (and strangely had the episodes dubbed and subtitled in English while still in Japan and only in region 2 format...).

I like the American/Canadian cartoon. Other than the cliched jokes and story lines, some of the episodes were pretty good. But, eh, this is from a person who like the old Legend of Zelda cartoons (shown on the Super Mario Show). *shrugs*

Naa... I really don't like the EXE series. The series of games are inconsistent and monotonous (I have to collect my whole chip folder, which took me days to complete and set perfectly, all over again in the next game?! ;) . The "main" story line isn't redeeming either. The anime, I seen a bit of it. It's okay but it's really generic. You really have to be a fan of the games to watch it.

What series Capcom SHOULD have made/make into an anime is the X or the Legends series. Especially the Legends. That has so much potential for an anime not mentioning it wouldn't take too much to translate the games to TV. It could easily mix action, comedy, and romance genres.

...The X anime would probably be overly serious and have chock full of philosophy that people would think it boring. *laughs* Either not enough action or too gory and emotionally charged.
