Danny wrote:I stand by my opinion of mononoke. Obviously quite a few people disagree on this board. That is your perogative. It is obvious you either look for or see something very different in that movie than I. It is a bad movie IMO. I am actually quite surprised people seem to like it so much here. Ah well. We all have different perspectives eh?

Well that's just it of course. Opinions DO vary, though I'd be curious to hear why you think it is an outright bad movie. While my favorites among Ghibli's films are probably different than others, I've never seen a film by them I actually thought was bad.

I don't try to point out how bad a Ghibli film is, rather how good it is. Alot of time and effort, especially imagination, is put into Ghibli films. I respect Miyazaki and the others who make them.

Princess Mononoke is my 8th most favourite anime (movie or series) of all time. Spirited Away is 7th. :)

I was afraid I would get asked that! :p Before I get lynched, it was favourite animes, not favourite anime characters. :astro:

First is Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex, second is Elfen Lied, and Astroboy (1980) came third.

As for my favorite anime, in the category of TV sries that do not seem to have any real continuing stories, I really like Urusei Yatsura. Im just finished disc 28 of 45 (that have been released in English), & I have yet to be disappointed. This is a funny show! Lum is the sweetest girl I can imagine, yes, she has a short fuse & can shoot lightning from her fingertips, but she never does so without provocation. :hyo:

Astroboy 1960s is still my favorite, though; it is just plain enjoyable. :astro:
