I saw it, and I think I saw most of the episodes several times However, I had seen it in French, and now that I managed to see it in English I realize how difficult it was to translate.

Did it have the same title in French?

The voices must have been rather different between the two versions, were they not? Which version would you say had better lines and acting?

Difficult to say, I hadn't seen the French version since maybe 10 years before I saw the English version. Since then, I forgot most of accuracy on voices (I forget easily this kind of thing). I do remember some characters name and expressions though.
In the French version, Launchpad (is it the correct name?) is called "Flagada Jones" (a pun for "Indiana Jones" I suppose).
In the French version, the catch phrase "Let's get dangerous" (is it correct?) is "Ca va craindre un max", which litterally means in English "It's going to fear a max" (good luck to get the original meaning)

No. In French it was called "Myster Mask" (as-is), which strangely doesn't need a translation in English. They aren't French words although they are very clear in their meaning. In correct French, it should have been "Mystère Masque".

Hi- I remember Darkwing Duck, he had that pilot from Ducktales as a sidekick. One of my favorite episode involve how one of his enemy was calling him a boy scout with the hand-book under his pillow. He was right. Love his trademark call to action,"lets get dangerous". Love cartoons much better than adult shows, they are much more entertaining and when done right make you think and want to learn. Astroboy is one cartoon series that should had spark alot of interest in science, especially robotics. Thanks, your friend Toni, praying all of you the very best and hope i am always welcome here. For some reason, I always favored Daffy over Donald, & in general Warner Bros over Disney. However, I do remember a Donald Duck cartoon in which H, D, & Louie wanted to buy a box of cigars for Donald's birthday. He caught them, & presuming they wanted to smoke them, shoved them into their mouths and forced them to smoke them.

Also, we had a endless-loop movie projection system, which we used for home movies. It came with a Donald D cartoon titled "3 for breakfast"; & although it was silent, it was very funny.

I had to dig in the Wikipedia for this one. The French name for Negaduck is "Sinister Mask" (which again doesn't need any translation in English). For the ones who can read French, you can have a look at the French article on Darking Duck/Myster Mask. You can access the English version here.

Hmmm, no, now I'm sure I've never seen that show. I don't get the original meaning myself, to be honest... And they say Québécois French is hard to understand?

P.S.: I do not know what it is in the last update of Firefox, but it seems to underline every non French word of my posts on every single forum à la Microsoft Word (in the text box, that is)!

In terms of me misconceiving certain french lines, I can recall a good one: I very often heard the french sentence "il faut s'attendre au pire" appearing in the french Astroboy series. Meaning actually "to have to expect the worst", I always used to have misinterpreted the word "pire", which sounds similar for "pyre" in english. I remember how I thought why would they possibly have to wait for the pyre? I was like wtf...

My dad still has this little b/w Super8 film reel containing scetches from Charlie Chaplin and Laurel & Hardy. Their scetches were getting introduced by a small Donald Duck cartoon showing him doing ice hockey together with his 3 nephews - one of the funniest things I've ever seen then. The presentation of said little film reel was a compulsive ritual when we used to have our Super8 film evenings once a year among our family. To me, it was a definite climax I always used to wait for.

In fact, this sentence doesn't really mean anything in correct French either It basically means that there might be good reasons to be fearful, in fact not very far than being dangerous. It is often said when one means to get serious and get things done sometimes in a brute force way :d evil:

Yes, it is a spelling corrector in a recent update. I have first seen its impact by reading people complaining in a French forum that Firefox was underlining in red almost every word. Of course, an outstanding number of French people have horrible spellings on forums, so I suppose you understand why I was litterally rolling on the floor when reading the complains The first ones to post the complains seemed to genuinely ignore that it was a spelling corrector, they thought it was a modification from the website developer and didn't see the point
