I know that Barnes and Noble sells the series, and if that fails there is always online shopping. If you have no qualms with reading scans and translations of it they exist as well online.

It's a really good series, and I am liking the plot. I'm a little nervous though because one of my most favorite characters died in that series...

I most certainly won't spoil anything, I really hate spoilers! I hope you'll enjoy reading it. I think Mangafox.com has the scans up, but I'm not sure.

Of other animes and mangas that I enjoy that I should mention are getting a bit of a revival. I really like Saint Seiya/Knights of the Zodiac. In the last ten years it's had a whole new manga series titled Saint Seiya the Lost Canvas, and just last year a newer hipper series titled Saint Seiya Omega. I don't know much about Omega because it just doesn't appeal to me, but I do enjoy Lost Canvas.

If you like shounen anime/manga you might like Saint Seiya, it's a classic.

On a random note the manga Banana Fish is rather spectacular but it's very intense so not recommended for people under the age of 17.

I honestly don't care if the manga is shojo or shounen. I read both.
I almost forgot about Tegami Bachi: Letter Bee! That's a funny but sad one. I'm in the middle of reading it, but I haven't gotten to my library to pick up the next edition yet.

I'll read whatever catches my eye, and usually I don't even know what genre the manga belongs to until I'm engrossed in it. However I do know some people that will actually only read a certain genre.

I was reading HELLSING a few years ago, but it took forever for new volumes to be released, & I lost interest.

Currently, I am watching ROSARIO & VAMPIRE, about this human boy who ends up enrolled in a HS for yokai (monsters). HUNTER X HUNTER, NARUTO SHIPUDEN; those are all via web.

Personally, I wouldn't call "Hatsune Miku" an anime. It's more of a Video Game than an anime. I should know, I'm a Miku Fanatic!

So I put manga and anime on the back burner for a few months and immersed myself back into my roots as a Batman fan, but now I decided to pick back up by reading my number ONE favorite manga series of all time...

Banana Fish.

Yes, that's the name. It may sound silly but this manga is incredible to me. Words cannot describe how important this manga is to me. The manga is by award winning mangaka Akimi Yoshida whose art style is unique and not typical of standard anime or manga art. She uses bold lines, anatomically correct proportions and delves into the true psyche of her characters giving the reader a richer story experience than one might expect. Her characters grow and offer insights into themes that otherwise might be automatically deemed 'taboo' to most cultures.

Banana Fish is one epic ride, when I first read this series back in 2005 I couldn't put the books down and was literally clawing for more, it was eventually in 2007 that all 19 books were brought over.

The story takes place in New York in 1986 and revolves around the mind control drug known as Banana Fish and young gang gay leader Ash Lynx in his attempts to defy his 'fate' governed to him by mafioso "Papa" Dino Golzine. There's a lot of guns, plot twists and heart pounding-soul-crushing moments that will really make you wonder if this manga is really shojo. Yoshida shows an insanely accurate depiction of America in the mid 80s and the dynamics of gangs, she also shows vast knowledge of pharmaceutics, politics, business and warfare.

Sadly, this manga has almost no fanbase... Maybe because it's too serious or the art style isn't 'pretty' enough for most manga and anime fans.

Well that's what I'm reading now. I just wanted to geek a little bit and maybe get someone else interested in this series.

I'm currently keeping up with the modern anime of Hunter X Hunter and watching through Hokuto no Ken/Fist of the North Star.

I can't say enough good things about Hunter X Hunter. Excellent writing, interesting characters with deep thought put behind each of their stories and personalities, well-thought out battles, clever humor...the list could go on and on. It can be dark at times for a shonen series, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone under the age of 16. You won't be disappointed if you decide to watch it.

As for Hokuto no Ken, I was somewhat surprised at how enjoyable it is. I'm not a big fan of overly gory media, but Hokuto no Ken handles the gore in a way that is not in-your-face, which I appreciate. It's basically a serious version of early Dragon Ball. I'm still pretty early in the series, but I've enjoyed every bit of it so far.
