They know of Halloween in Japan and they theme things for commercial use as they do with Christmas. They do not however go trick or treating.

April, thanks! I hope to post a pic of me without the wig at some point in the future. I do have so many wigs though, that most of the pictures of myself are in cosplay wigs.

@Tet Pen - Yes, he DOES look like a flying ace . . . especially in his bomber jacket . And yeah, what does that tell you about our finances . . . our "good" car is what somebody else got for their kid going away to college? Ahhhh . . . to be upper middle class, like my parents! :d oh:

Hmm, you blurred the background and drew a ragged outline around him. The glasses look ok, sorta like Tezuka's actually!

yeah, he blended in too much with the bkg. Maybe AF might have a different technique, but it's a pretty low res image - that's what the stroke around AB looks "raggedy" and the frame of his glasses looks too thick (it was actually set for 1 pixel).

I was going to try and extract him from the background anyway. Gimp has a few tools to do that and I tried it on AF's image and shrunk it to an icon size. The trick was to blow it up double size first then use the 'scissor' tool. It's not perfect though. There is also a contrast separation tool, but unless the object has a very sharp edge contrast it usually doesn't work.

Anyway, I see now that the gray doesn't stand out well against our blue background.
