Willkommen Rick! :)

I don't remember anybody from Germany here, although we have a Swiss German member, who, if I recall correctly, also said there wasn't much about Astro in the German language.

How did you discover Astro Boy?

Welcome newbies!! This place is GREAT, so glad you joined the party (I'm one of the 50-somethings who remembers Astro original premiere - YAY!)

@Rick from Germany - my grandmother was from Trier - are you anywhere near there? I'm in a chorus rehearsing Brahm's German Requiem -- LOOOOVVEEE to sing German. Glad you joined us - das ist sehr gut!

BTW the German Astro Boy theme is GREAT!

Luxembourg here, not far from Trier ;) (even though here we say Trèves)

@Fafner - You're from Luxumbourg? That's cool! I know it's right across the river from Trier. Someday I'd love to go to Germany (as well as the 4 other countries I "descended" from!)

In fact I'm not from Luxembourg, I just live here. I'm from Paris (but my parents moved when I was 3 months old, so in a way that's true nevertheless).

I also want to visit France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and will use the opportunity to visit Luxembourg too, it looks beautiful! :D

The problem is that all these countries are too much for me to handle in a single trip, so I'll have to split them into at least two trips. :( But I hope to go in the near future! :D

Schade dass die Manga/Anime-Serie hier in Europa in den Medien kaum erwähnt wird. Denn allein vom Inhalt her beurteilt und den globalen Geschehnissen in letzer Zeit ist die Serie aktueller denn je.
Hoffen wir, dass sie mal in absehbarer Zukunft für die deutschsprachigen Länder synchronisiert wird. Vedient hätte sie es allemal.
Wie mich Astro Forever richtig zitiert hat: Ausser den 3 VHS-Veröffentlichungen mit den ersten 6 Episoden drauf, wurde keine weitere 80er Astro Boy Episode mehr in Deutsch synchronisiert. Die Gründe dafür waren wohl finanzieller Natur..., zu schade! :(

Den CGI-Film hingegen ist auf Deutsch erhältlich, nicht? Weisst Du da mehr darüber?

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your stay here on the boards! We need more Europeans here! :lol:
