"Pale People" was okay. Sounded a bit like Missy Higgins. I started doing other stuff and it became background music to me, so I suppose I wasn't grabbed by it.

I couldn't download "Cloe". Rapidshare kept saying the session had timed out. I'll try Emule.

Title: "Jazz Man"
Artist: Lisa and Bleeding Gums Murphy
Album: The Simpson's Best

Not only is The Simpsons a great show, it apparently has great music. Even if your not a fan of "comedy music," give this song a try. It has beautiful jazz elements and strong lyrics, ones that stray more on powerful emotion than on humorous quality.

The Simpsons are a series that continue to be nominated for awards, even in the music catagory. You may remember the song "Who Needs the Kwik-E-Mart", sung by Homer and Apu, being nominated. Though "Jazz Man" was never a nominated Simpson's song, it tops the charts as one of my favorites. It's extremely well done.

Btw, there's a lot of dialogue in the beginning, but stick through it, the song starts half way through. Oh, and a fun fact, the writers snuck in a joke about The Lion King being stolen from Tezuka. See if you can find it. ;)

I got it, however I missed one word that I can't understand :(
"You must avenge my ... Kimba. Tamin Simba."
It seems to be followed by "I am your father." I suppose this is another allusion? :p

"You must avenge my death, Kimba...... I mean.... Simba...."

Yes, they tend to do that. I guess they thought Darth Vadar's voice sounded a lot like the person who announces CNN. Unfortunetly, it makes much more sense if you see the visual along with the episode, but the song is still nice.

Dr Frag, I'm so glad you liked Cloe! What I'm trying to do with this thread is introduce people to a different variety of songs and music styles. People commenting on what they like really helps me a lot. :)

"Jazz Man"

I'm one of those kids who doesn't watch any of the newfangled shows, even if they are good. I stick to Seinfeld and The Simpsons and so a lot of the time I feel left out.

But not, um, now.

I'd never heard this before, but it is very good. The jazz is killer, the dialogue un-annoying, and the Kimba reference allowed me to loosen up and feel bitter about a subject I typically don't allow bitterness about.

Thumbs up. Touching.

On a side note, thanks for all the warm welcome, everyone.

I suppose that now you know I am not a native English speaker with such a stupid error :p

Mufasa and Darth Vader were both voiced by James Earl Jones. Was there a third character in the clouds? It's been so long since I saw it.
