Wow  you really should take some distance with computers for some time :p I suppose it doesn't work with Yahoo browser? Did you try with Mozilla Firefox to see if it works?

It works here. If I had to guess, I would say it is a problem with cookies. Is there some options about cookies in your firewall? Or maybe should I ask that to jeffbert? ;)

A few questions to make things clear:
  1. Can you use forms on other sites?
  2. Are you saying that no browser you use allows you to post? If so,
    • Do you have a firewall program? If so, there might be a setting on the firewall that prohibits cookies.

I am not an IT guy, just one who has been around PC for quite a while.

My firewall is McAfee. I don't know how to see about the cookies in that program and I think it is because of it. I remember I had scan my computer with it and it blocked 25 ideams. All of them, I think, had the word cookie. I can post on the forums but... I don't know. Things just run slower now, they keep loading and loading or there's errors. I know it's my computer and I use it to update my website and now I can't seem to get to my hoster. The homepage just keeps loading and loading. I don't won't to use my dads computer!

Well, I still can't update my profile. Maybe I should downgrade my firewall.

I have done some researches on McAfee's suite. I don't know which version you are using, but since you said you have upgraded recently, I assume you have McAfee 2007. I found rather negative reviews on it (on 2006 too by the way). Most of them dealt with slowing down the computer to a hog, or taking over the computer (essentially removing software willfully installed by the user). I found positive reviews too, but not as convincing. The ones negating the slowing down were mentioning high amount of RAM on their computer (2Gb).
I would advise deactivating completely McAfee (maybe even uninstall if it can't be deactivated) for a short time to see whether there is a difference (maybe risky though). If it is the case, you will have 4 solutions: downgrade (not sure if you can), change to another security suite (which might end up not better, other products had similar negative reviews too), add RAM in your computer (it is not as expensive as it was some time ago), or run without any security (which might be suicide with Windows).
