@Astronomical girl -- Wow -- I always got the sense that you would be a doctor -- it's the way you look at things. That's so cool, and wonderful that at a young age you feel the calling and are on the path of following your dream.

:tenma: - Dr. Tenma paging Dr. Astronomical Girl!!
:hyo: - Forget it!! Her name isn't Hoshie!!

@TBH -- yeah, what is it about the bad chairs in hospitals??!! If anything they should be ergonomically designed to accommodate tushies that have to sit for extended periods of time!

:astro: -- OH NO!! Not the "T" word!!
:d evil: - and he doesn't mean "time!"

I'm a product of my mom really
My mom was an Air Force nurse and she would tell us stories of different patients she worked on and people she worked and in different places around the world. and when I was younger and I got sick she would come in my room and give me some meds and I would feel better.

I was very difinative when I looked at the human body as it even when I was younger one day for example, my younger brother was wearing a flowery dress that I wore and I told him "no, you're a boy you don't wear dresses" then my older sister asked me how did I know and I told her "he's like nathan, boys have pipes and girls don't". this was my own knowledge,We all had a laugh about to this day about difinativeness. I don't look at the human body as shameful and look at it like an object of pure uniquity and awe. we can't make anything that dares come close to what the human body can do better. if you think about the human body is suited for the earth if you think about it. robots need material to be built while humans can replicate ourselves in numbers.

Sorry I am so late in replying, but I had a guest over on Sat. & my PC was off from then until now. I suffered a blood clot in the right hemisphere way back in 1961; it greatly affected by ability to control my left extremities. But it was several hours between the bonk on the head and the surgery. Anyway, I know there is a world of difference between a blood clot and cardiac arrest, but only time will tell the actual amount of damage. As I was only 3 at the time, I was not very cooperative in the process of retraining my brain to control the arm and leg. All we can do is hope that Jammy has the will to recover. I apologize for the negative tone here, as one who has suffered the equivalent of a stroke, I am actually trying to give you hope.

The Tawashi Bus Hat, all I can offer is my empathy. Please feel free to PM me.

I am over 1/2 a century, but far from the 3/4 mark. Actually I believe I indicated both my age & the date the injury occurred, so you should be able to ascertain my current age to within a year or two. :D

if you had this when you were three you had probably had a better chance of recovery then if you were older.

difference in a blood clot and a cardiac arrest.

A Thrombus or in common terms a "blood clot" is an internal version of what is normally an external plug. when you cut yourself the platelets begin forming a plug to keep in the blood as well as keep out bacteria plug up the cut, however should in case the blood gets sick the platelets will plug up internally causing problems. if you want more info

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_clot

A Cardiac arrest, occars when heart stop contracting for different reasons. if left in this condition is fatal however medical attention is advised to call 911 as immidaite as possible. more info

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardiac_arrest

it is rather interesting that I know someone else who is a baby boomer beyond my parents. this I am intriged :)
