Horse Problem

Good News! I called up my nieghbor who just so happens to be a vet. She can over here and told us the problem. Its MAL-NUTRION so all we need to do is feed him more. The actual problem started at his old house because they beleived they only needed to give him four flakes a day of hay. Well he actually needed 6-7 flakes a day because it was really bad hay. When they gave his to us he came with a bail of that bad hay. I'm so relived. Im feeding him right now and later tonight we are gonna go get better hay (alphafa hay) he also needs alot more excercise because his old owners rarly did but that will be easy Thank you all for being so caring

No he accually shrunk but since Ive only had him for a week I didnt know. I thought he had swollen :d oh: stupid me

Yeah. I told Rio how so many people on here cared about him and I think he's happier (but he was also pretty happy that he got to eat) edit: another upside to this is when originally we got Rio my dad told me that I couldn't ride Rio for another 2 weeks, but the vet told me I needed to start riding him asap

I was thinking of what activities I should try and this reminds me that I've never ride a horse, but I've always wanted to do this at least once. I know somebody who also wanted to do it some time ago, I think I'll ask her about it again!

Thats a great idea to add to you bucket list. Riding a horse is a extreme joy , because you feel this sort of connection and teamwork that you would never feel with a car (when the horse isn't misbehaving ). I know you would like it

lol yeah as long as youve got someone there that either knows the horse or knows horses to ride with you you should be fine

@ Gotta Love AB - do you ride Western or English? I used to ride Western when I was young as part of a 4-H club. Then I got to do a trail ride with an English saddle and really liked the way it felt - more like I was part of the horse - especially when we got to a field and did a GALLOP!!! weeeeeeeeeee hooooooooo!! Almost like flying! (but w/o jet boots!)

What does Rio look like? I've always wanted an Arabian!

I ride both but personaly I like english. Rio is a Paint he is mostly red with a white blaze on his head, white boots, and white "splater paint " on his belly. He is 12 years old but he's got the spirit of a 6 year old ... My grandparents used to own tons of arabians. Their beautiful but aparently their a pain in the butt cuz their so smart
