I made some roasted chicken leg quarters with rubbed sage and butter until the skin is golden and crispy with a side of roaster summer yellow squash with lots of thyme and butter with a plate of homemade white cheese macaroni made with shell noodles.

... there are no left overs.

I also had some spaghetti tonight with southwest vegetables. Finished it off with an apple pie cookie and some pecan praline ice cream. :D

I stopped by an Asian market on the way home and picked up some frozen Japanese Natto and a bag of Japanese style white rice (the later a product of California). Now to google for some recipes and instructions on cooking rice in a pot on the stove. I've heard that the fermented soybeans are healthy, and that they are usually eaten over rice, so I wanted to try this. (I've also heard the stuff has a strong odor like Limburger cheese). Will post back on this later ....

EDIT:
I don't think that Natto smells anywhere as bad as what I've heard. The stuff is rather stringy, but when mixed with rice it's not bad at all. I tried eating a few of the beans by themselves, and didn't find the taste at all objectionable. I'll try eating it by itself without adding to the rice another time, but I don't see what the big deal is about this stuff. If you like strong cheeses (I do) you'll like Natto.

Roast chicken does not count; nice try. :ninja: :D Only fried chicken is sufficiently yummy, 美味しい, & おいしい.

edit: I ate that while others ate the traditional meal; I am just not interested in roasted food. I did eat chocolate cream pie; in fact, I was the only one here who did not stuff himself.

I just make turkey-noodle soup from the left overs from the (two) thanksgivings I went to. Came out delicious! I also had two cream-puffs.

It's really the only thing you can do with so much turkey (and I really really don't like turkey sandwiches).
