That's a reason why they force incompatibilites between some countries, the other main reason is because they are not released simultaneously.

They could just be saying it would cost no more than 250 to get everyone on their side. But believe what you want it still has not happened yet an official price and date at least Sony did theirs early and you know they aren’t lying about the price lol.

Latu wrote:Possible launch times mentioned by the gaming press include directly after the Tokyo Game Show (which ends September 24), October 2, November 2, November 6, and November 12. Also, Nintendo has stated that the Wii will cost no more than JP¥25,000 (approx. US$222, c.2006) in Japan, and no more than US$250 in America.

Wikipedia stated this. In a previous post I said that Gamestop was releasing games on 11/1/06, nothing about prices.

Sorry the EDIt feature was broken.

Fafner is right. Different countries have different economies.

Ray_the_canadian wrote:Well thats a tough question. Pretty much the PS3 is a PC that hooks up to your tv, thats why its gonna be so bloody expensive. Then again u look at how much PC's are (usually in the thousands), then the PS3 would be looking cheap for those who can afford it.

My PC was only about $500 and it came with a printer.... :ninja:

Wikipedia is not always right remeber nothing on it is officla yet especialy for future released consoles.
The PS3 has 7 Processers and a Blu Ray player I do not think your PC can back up up to 50 GB and 200 GB once 4 layer discs come out on a single disc to be later read.
I have no idea why the PS3 would need a printer.

I'm just saying......I got a printer with my computer.....I thought it was a pretty good deal.
PS3 is good for playing games, but a PC is good because of internet, etc.
When you get the PS3 tell me how it is, it sounds pretty good.

I don't quite understand this. Blu Ray players have been available for PCs for months, and 50GB rewritable discs are also available.
I'm not sure why anyone would want to use them for backing up though, right now it's cheaper to buy another hard drive.
