Yes. I forgot to write it.

Neither am I, but I think it's evident that Franquin has somewhat of updated his style in drawing in the later volumes to follow. Maybe it was just a cause of getting used at drawing them? :D
I hadn't payed a close attention to your scan. Of course, when I did, it was obvious. :D It might have striked me more if I had had the books in my hands (but then you spotted it from my scans anyway, so maybe my sense of observation was off!).

Yes, I think the artists get better at drawing their own characters with time. Tintin doesn't look as good in "Le lotus bleu" (after page 5) or "L'oreille cassée" - I know there were earliers albums, but they had been redrawn and rearranged, which is why the style isn't the same.

Same thing with "Boule et Bill", the style appear just a little rough at first - it's not bad, but it doesn't look quite as good. And if I recall correctly, I believe even the smurfs are slightly different in their first albums (but the difference is hardly noticeable).

Oh, I never dared to assume you did them just for me, however, still it's convenient to have them translated. The french language still uses to play tricks on me, so I definitely can benefit from it too. :)
Great then! :D

Woah  , please don't overestimate me! My first language still remains as the one I can handle somewhat of reasonable. When it comes to the 2 other languages, well I'm just happy being able putting together a sentence the essence of is getting understood by the majority reading it. :hyo:
But you must speak both Swiss German and German well, no? You are very good in English, and while you may not be comfortable in French (yet ;) ), being able to understand the French Astroboy and enjoy Gaston in French is already a lot, even if there are still a few little things that you don't understand.

:) Oh yeah, I too remember reading those. The former one you mentioned has been translated in 'Der blaue Lotus' overhere. I wasn't quite pleased either by the drawings in that one compared to more recent Tintin volumes.
Speaking about another cartoon of the same issue: 'Garfield' is a pretty striking example of how comic character's visual appearance can be changed over the years. I remember once comparing the 1st book's drawings with an up-to-date release. You hardly would think it's the same cat; ...and boy was he FAT back then! *hides behind Jon*

Well yes, the 2 german languages don't serve me with big problems anymore, I consider them both as 1 language anyway since they're kind of similar in grammar and pronunciation.
Thanks for the compliments. Like that, you keep me going at improving myself.

I've never read Garfield, except once in a while in my newspaper. I found it depressing!

You are welcome. Have you learn the script of the whole French Astroboy series by now? :p ;)

I haven't yet, since I only own volume 1, and most of my favorite episodes are on volume 2 (French order, that is).

Not quite yet, but it's inevitable that I will if I maintain my weekly dose of french Astro.
It's so much more fun learning a language by listening to a voice you adore.

Hasn't the 2nd volume been released yet? :( I'm waiting very badly for it to become available. I can't figure out why they couldn't have released the whole series at once instead of splitting & releasing them separately at different dates.

No, it hasn't.

Unfortunately, may series that are over 40 episodes get released in two different boxes.

 While we eagerly awaiting the 2nd season's release, lets place a Gary Larson standard as a little interlude:
