The mayans were wrong and it was annoying reading a lot of foolishness saying they were right.
No they were not wrong. They never predicted anything

If the asteroid hit earth the only damage it could do is probably hit one city or forest or something like that. Its not like it can hit the earth's core and break earth in half. With the technology we have today it is improbable for what happened in the dinasore age to occur now.
That's false. Theorically, we have the technology to avoid a collision, but many things may fail in the process.
1) If a big asteroid hits the ground, it will destroy a city, then cause a winter for several years. Crops will be destroyed and most of people starved to death. While humans may survive as a species, all civilizations will be destroyed and sent back to stone age. At least for some time.
2) A direct shoot of all our nuclear weapons will be nothing more that wind for the most massive of them.
3) Digging a hole to blast them into pieces may or may not work. Even if it works, it may cause a meteorites shower instead of a big hit.
4) We may simply not see the dangert until it's too late. A few months ago, an asteroid passed at a mere 180.000 kilometers from Earth, that is less than the distance to the Moon. Despite its size, it was not seen until almost on us because it was too dark.

And, I do not like Naruto.
Why shut up about the end of the world? The next one is for next 19th May
