First of all, thank you Tetsuwan Atom for the subtitles!
I've applied a lot of corrections to them (and I'll do more as I watch the movie with them), so anyone who has the DVD, feel free to ask me for the SRT file.
The movie is only $14.49 on YESASIA (Region 3), if you don't need it on Blu-ray.
I've also found a French fansub. It seems to be only 20 days old where I found it, and yet I'm almost certain that the English subtitles are based on it. A lot of their grammar issues come from translating French expressions that don't work in English.
Tezuka DVDs (split from Animerama topic)
YESASIA is finally listing the 2k anniversary special with Astro Boy (The Last Mystery of the 20th Century). They had the Hong Kong DVD since 2002, but that one has Chinese subs burned onto the picture. This Taiwanese DVD is much better, and now people don't need to sign up at JSDVD to get a copy.
By the way, I got a copy of the Spanish DVD for the live-action Hi no Tori the other day. It passed off as new, but it's not. The cover was made with a crappy printer with blocky artwork (I even found the site where it was printed from, and the pictures look much better there). The disc also has a small scratch near the center. But thankfully, I think the disc is real. It says on the bottom "DVD Mastered By Condor," so if anyone else gets a copy some day, I'd love to hear if theirs also says this. I might try to get the Chilean DVD and compare the AV quality of the two.
About the Buddha fansub in French, scratch what I said, I think it's a translation of the bootleg subs after all, not vice versa.

I recently got that dog tezuka movie from 63 from Spain that was made by Toei even though it's real it's pretty crappy it says kid box only because there's a stupid handle on it and there just nothing in it except for the disc that fell out when i opended it

and damn for getting that Chinese burned sub version from 20th Century Last Miracle even though the cover is pretty nice i had to throw money on my CC to buy from YSDVD and i thought o well might as well throw it into my yesasia order.
O and something not DVD related you might be intresed in Tome 19 from Tezuka - Histoires pour tous Tous is already out of print WTF those Frech pepole really know how to get something fast out of print do they i had to pay quite some money in order to obtain it but i just did i refused to give in on it especially since it was the second volume of Flying Ben.

I still think the disc itself is legit. With the things and numbers written underneath it (near the center), and Condor seems like an authoring company. A bootleg would just be a copy, so no authoring needed. It's also region 2 locked. Whoever had this disc probably lost the box and they made a new one, sealed it and passed it off as new. I didn't dare to give any feedback to the seller on eBay. He might have gotten it this way, and I would have bought it anyway even if I had known it's used.
But wow is that a cheap menu. The looping video in the background is of the archer character looking at rocks and casually eating a piece of meat alone.
Hope you got it from Amazon Canada. They still have copies (with more on the way).

I just received my Last Mystery of the 20th Century, & indeed, the subs are optional. Too bad I still need the other one for English subs.[/QUOTE]
You mean the other one you had was a bootleg with English subs?
