Hi there,
Wasn't Metropolis amazing? A bit like dancer in the Dark I thought. Enjoyable and original but such a sad ending. Does anybody have a link to the official site?

Hey, thanks for the thought. I knew nothing of Tezuka Osamu's 'actors' until I began searching for stuffon Astroboy a few months ago. I viewed Metropolis about a year ago, and after looking at thecharacters page found under Ziggurat on upper right (requires Flash), I think I will rent it again. Daddy Walrus, Kenichi, Catchatorie (the ringmaster), and Lamp, are there, along with some new characters.
I am primarily interested in humorous anime, but I'll run Fritz Lang's and Tezuka Osamu's versions one after the other! :wahah:

It took me quite a while to find Duke Red's filmography, but I began looking at beginning of alphabet. I should have started with 'd' and 'r'.

Thanks for the link to the Sony Metropolis site. I recieve automated mail from them but I dont remember getting that one. Great Site! Thanks also for the link to the Tezuka Site, I am an aspiring cartoonist, and inspiring is what Tezukas works are!

You are welcome, Mike. I looked at some of your pages, and you do a fine job at cartooning.
Yuk! I tried Lang's version for 2 minutes, and quickly moved on to the anime.
I should have stated earlier, that by today's standards, Lang's Metropolis starts out a bit slow. It is a great film, though.

Our scanner has been put away until new carpeting is installed. Moreover, I would not know which pages to show. I do want want any trouble from Dark horse comics, so I will olny do one page, if even that much.
Here is Mitchy straight from theTezuka web page about her*

* The word 'her' is used rather liberally here, since Mitchy is not limited to the female sex.
Here is Duke Red
