SWEEEEEET!!!!! :D

Thats 'La Linea'.. one of the coolest FILLER cartoons the ABC here in australia ever aired. You would not believe a simple line could be so hilariously entertaining. With the hand that used to draw the line often appearing in the cartoon it always used to make us remember the DAFFY DUCK classic "Duck Amock" where the animator kept torment him for the whole cartoon and then in the end turned out to be Bags himself. Ahh... I loved that one :)

The coolest thing about la linea was the 'non-language' he spoke. Sort of like like the language the sims talk in the maxis game series.

Aww man. I loved La Linea. Me and my family try talking about this cartoon with friends often, but no one ever remembers it accept us, so it is GREAT to see someone else out there remembers it :D
three and a half years.. for what?

:D :D Sweet you guys remember him. I had no idea it was shown in australia too.

Check this thread here. There's going on some discussion about it.
Unfortunately the majority of the 'La Linea'-websites I've found so far are only in german and italian language :( .

Actually he speaks in italian, that's why his speech sounds so funny. Must be a great voice actor who did that kind of voice. In any other language it never would have the same effect I think :D .

It was shown in Quebec, Canada too...!... when I was young... :)

I remember, the caracter was always angry with the animator.
At the end of the show, the caracter was always falling from the end of the line... :D

Now as you mentioned, I just had some glimpses of that in my mind. Didn't those characters change to words and to other figures?
I'm pretty sure I saw that once, but I remember neither the TV station it was on nor when it was shown  .

while searching around last night, i discovered that they released the first series on dvd back in 2000. But unfortunatly i cant find anywhere to purchase it, i have tried the ABC website because they were the ones that aired it here in australia. But with no luck. So i have emailed the ABC and asked them if they would offer copies of old shows for sale... i am waiting for a reply, they said it may take up to 4 weeks. Here's hoping. but if not, i dont really have anything to lose

I remember a,e,i,o,u. I even get the theme song stuck in my head sometimes.

Back in the 80s someone wrote into Backchat and complained that these great little animated segments were never listed in the TV guide.

Others I can think of were The Grumps, The Red and The Blue (very cool), Morph (a classic! ;) , The Croc Note Show, The Wombles, Doctor Snuggles, and later Gumby. And Dennis The Menace which was really crap.

"The red and the blue" : is it the show made with modeling clay? If so, I remember that...
