I believe the worst of it was a denial by those who created Lion King, that they had even heard of of ever seen Kimba. <_<

I think that ten items of extreme similarity being passed off as sheer coincidence is asking for too much. Even if they maintain that they had not knowingly ripped of Kimba, some of the older members of the staff must surely admit that they had seen the series, and had been influenced thereby. Nevertheless, after no less than a decade since Kimba was last run in syndication, who would remember those details? Would they remember any Hamlet details either? If there were a good case, why does the owner of Kimba not sue Disney? It has been ten years since Lion King was released. It seems clear that there will be no lawsuit. ;)

This topic seems to make me angry. Why can't they just admit thats where the Lion King idea came from? Oh well.

why does the owner of Kimba not sue Disney?

Imagine trying to sue Disney for something that could go in courts forever. It would cost more than an Astroboy feature film done by stephen spielberg. I don't think they would want to waste their time and money.

What I find weird is that the Lion King has made a lot more money than Kimba..If I worked for Disney I would feel bad for "borrowing" Tezuka Productions ideas.

..but didn't Tezuka use American animating techniques before all of this?

The Lion King is NOT a rip-off of Kimba. So they have similar names. Big deal. The story is actually Shakespear's Hamlet.
Hey Rock, when did this happen? I wouldn't doubt it if it was recently. Disney has gone major-leauge downhill.

Sure it used American animation techniques. NBC would not have purchsed Kimba if it had been B&W. I read that NBC sent animators to Mushi to show how quality animation could be done with only a handful of coros & shades. However, it was not a case of Mushi Studios stealing the technique.
