When I was stationed in Japan the funniest commercial had to be in 1997, Godzilla selling tissues.
Our favorite mosh pit monster of destruction was trouncing Tokyo again when he came upon a very upset school boy who proceeded to berate Godzilla for all the destruction.
Poor Godzilla starts crying.
So the boy, feeling sorry, hands Godzilla a big tissue.
Godzilla wipes his nose.
and promptly drops the snot soaked tissue and squashes the kid.
Then he goes off dancing back to Tokyo Bay.
the end words of the commercial?
"The joy be restored."
