I have been playing Doom3 on and off since it was released a few days ago, and I have to say that it kinda sucks.

When you get over the potential of the new engine it is based on, there is no game left. Didn't people get over "go forward and press fire" as the full content of a game somewhere back in the Atari2600 era?

I am glad I did not blow money on this turkey. The mate who did buy it is addicted to it tho, so he is either a retard, brainwashed, or pathetically easy to please. He would possibly say "all of the above dude! All of the above!" If I asked him, and then blast another zombie marine.

Here is hoping ID leases the engine to another company what can actually put a game to it. I already played "Doom3" in the 70's when it was called "Space Invaders".

Anybody that pirates Doom3 knows nothing of Cyberlife and is indeed a dolt. Doom3 as it is, is the foundation of a new doom cyber matrix and you know nothing of it. This is just the start, and ID has done a work of intelligence and real genius. This game will last for decades. This is Doom.
If I were you, I'd delete any pirated copy of Doom3 off my system stat.

That's right.... Doom3 is just the basic demo of whats possible. It was the Doom community that made Doom. Ten's of thousands of custom doom wads. And thats what makes Doom3 so awesome, the engine and the custom levels to come. :wahah:

Meh, its still just a pretty FPS. There has only been one FPS that 'worked' as a good game and that was SOLDIER OF FORTUNE. Pity they destroyed any hope of ever being another good one with the turd that was SoF II.

I will not excuse ID for making a crappy game just cos the engine is good. If they are only interested in the engine, then stick to that, and do not brainwash the public into spending $100 on a "demo".

Half Life 2 has a lot more chance of being liked now the pressure of competing with this turkey is no longer an issue. It would be like comparing PONG to CHESS. Pointless.

half life 2 is gonna be good ... i played the beta version and its just so realistic in some parts its amazing

that if it ever get released .. wasnt is suppose to be out last october?? soon after they released condition zero?

Yeah Half life 2 is gonna be great. But it's not doom. I can't wait to see the new custom levels that are gonna show up.
