I was very happy to learn that starting June 22nd MSN will be making agressive efforts to remove all adult groups from it's MSN Groups, including Anime and Manga oriented sick smut sites peddling to "lolicon" and "Shota". My wife and I have seen enough of these groups in the listings and we are sick of the image it has given Anime in general.
When I brought up the proposal of "Anime Nights" aboard the USS Carl Vinson during our deployment, the one all consuming worry of the command staff was...you guessed it... porn. They were obsessed with anime being nothing but porn and after seeing some of these sick sites it seems the tag has been well earned in America.
I'm sure w've all heard about these "slash" manga and donshi making perversions of Naruto, Spirited Away and yes sickening enough even Astro Boy has not been immune to these mentally warped creeps. Though the Japanese government back in 1998 began making moves towards a total ban of Lolicon and shota they have yet to really make a hard core effort towards criminalizing these sickening art forms.
But at least MSN is going to clamp down, thats a good start.
