I was with my brother in a place called Tyson's Corner Virginia the other day, & he took me to the LEGO store (I never knew there was such a thing). Anyway, the place sold nothing but LEGO & toys associayted with LEGO such as Halloween costume accessories. There was a wall covered with bins full of bulk LEGO, mainly the bricks, but a few special pieces were also there. I think it went for $12.95 for a 32 ounce cup full of it.

Anyway, there was a 3500 piece Deathstar model for about $300! The thing was huge, the box was about 18 inces wide, 14 inches tall & 10 inches deep. It was of the supposedly uncompleted version with the exposed inner details.

After finding this on the web, I also found other huge models. Be sure to check them out:

I spent quite some time on that site! :P I was checking how much it would cost to buy something I had always wanted to build in Lego. The answer is: a lot!

I sooooo wish I could have ordered this way the pieces I wanted 20 years ago! Not to mention all the new available colors! :wahah: That's not fair!

Edited to replace "buy" by "build"...

That exactly what I think now I know that bulk pieces can be bought. When I was a kid, I always had problems with not enough pieces to finish my construction, while I had many other unusable pieces  WHHHYYYYYYY?

Well, you need it to be big, otherwise, how do you want it to blow up a planet into tiny lego pieces? :P
They DO have included the super-laser into the box, haven't they?

My projects were usually so large that I rarely had enough pieces to finish them.

I'd buy houses with walls of only one block height... The inside was cool to play in though! B) Anyway, when I'd settle for a smaller house to build higher walls, they were either red, or else blue and white. Have you ever seen a house with walls of those colors? Now they have those gray and sand bricks! :(

What were the most unsual things you ever build? I remember building a grand piano of the right size for the figurines, complete with black and white keys! :P Obviously not the 88 of them! :P
