It's been running for months now... Enjoy it while it lasts. It's going to be dropped off the Adult Swim lineup in March or April...
I record it whenever I feel like staying up that late at night (it comes on at 2:00am my time).
Billy Watt (the voice actress for Astro Boy in the 60s version) did the voice for Jimmy Sparks. There are other memorable voices who voiced in this cartoon too.

There is a box set of it--think it is worth getting?
I don't remember who put it out, don't really want to invest in another Rhino set.

I'm not sure... All I see when go to DVD stores are the Tetsujin 28 (2004 version) ones. Those, I really don't recommend. Just like the 2003 Astro Boy series, the comedy (and also the pep) was sucked out of the new remake.

These are the sets, and they are indeed Rhino...
The covers look exactly like Tezuka's designs, was he involved in this series?

Naa... I haven't bought those yet so I can't comment on them...
To my knowledge of, no, Tezuka didn't have any part in this cartoon. But back in that day, it seemed like most Japanese animators and cartoonists worked in his company at one time or another. So, the character designs look familiar probably because Mitsuteru Yokoyama had to practice drawing Tezuka characters. (A good example is Ishinomori Shoutarou who did that such thing when he worked for Tezuka.)
