I speak a little bit of French so I thought the easiest way for me to read Tezuka mangas not released here in the U.S. was to buy them in French instead of Japanese. This site is chock full of them http://www.bdnet.com/Tezuka/fiche_auteur.htm

However, I'm having some problems with it. Has anyone ordered from here before? I don't know if they convert the euros to dollars, and I don't know if I have to change the information around on the ordering page. Little help?

That said, I have bought in euros before even though I live in Canada. You have nothing special to do about the money conversion, it will be done automatically by your credit card company. Of course, it's still a good idea to check how much it will cost you (http://www.xe.com/ucc/ is a good site), just to have an idea (the rate of the credit card company might be a little bit different, but it won't be a huge difference).

I also speak French and other members here do, so if there is something you have trouble to understand something, you can ask here.

The whole "Tarif Normale" and "Tarif Rapide." I mean, I understand it, but I don't know how it's connected with the delivery of the manga. Then there are two links to click on and I'm not sure which is the right one...... I'm confused....

Also, is the coma in a euro price the same as a decimal in an American price? Because if not my total comes out to 2,864 dollars....

According to what's written here:

4-1 Livraison

Lent : 1 à 4 semaines
Rapide : 2 à 5 jours ouvrables

I assume that "lent" is "normal". They say the average delivery time is 1 to 4 weeks with the "lent" option and 2 to 5 working days for the "rapide" option. But they don't say if it's true for France, Europe or the whole world. However I did order from Europe in the past and I did get some of my orders in something like 8 days (5 to 6 working days).

As for the delivery fees, there are informations on USA and Canada on this page. It means that if you order 1 to 4 items, the delivery will cost 44 euros with the "tarif rapide" option and 16 euros with the "tarif normal" option. From 5 to 7 article, it will be 49 and 21 euros respectively (I hope we can use that word like that in English), and so on according to the table.

FF means "franc français", which was the money in use in France before they switched to euros. It's not in use anymore, but I assume they put the prices in FF to help those who still "think" in FF instead of euros.

I've found that if you live in Canada then the absolute easiest way is to order French Tezuka manga is through Amazon.ca. The pros are basically that you order in Canadian dollars, you don't run the risk of paying and customs or duty ('cause they import them and then ship them out from Ontario), and if you order enough you can qualify for Free Shipping. The only real downside is that it can take a long time. I ordered a bunch of books in March and I finally got them last week.

For starters, I'm a dope. I should have known you couldn't see that page... :d oh: But about the whole coma thing, it must be what I thought it was. I remember when I was in Montreal, prices were written like that, but they certainly weren't that expensive. The conversion website you gave me a link to confirmed this hunch. I put in a periode instead of a coma and it came out to around nine dollars American, what a usual manga costs.

I've been aching to read Vampires for a long while now. I think I'll take the chance and try to order it. If it doesn't work, well then I'll know next time.
