it's ok

... yeah the F-16 fighting falcon dose look cool

there all cool

but my fab one is the F-14 Tomcat

it's a shame they had to get rid of the old F-14 tomcat :d oh: they play a awesome part in Top gun

but they said the F-14 tomcat weighed to much

because it had swing-wings... to have those wings the machine to pull those wings back was very heavy and the Technology was old too Basically they just picked holes in it to get rid of it because it was old the first time it flew was in 1970

... but it will still be a good plane

....
this is the long story of the squdron i'm training for (
well was trianing for):
While on the end of their cruise (and their final F-14 cruise before transitioning to the F/A-18F Super Hornet) in 2001 onboard the USS Enterprise (CVN-65), VF-41 black aces would once again be drawn into combat in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. VF-41 black aces While on the end of their cruise (and their final F-14 cruise before transitioning to the F/A-18F Super Hornet) in 2001 onboard the USS Enterprise (CVN-65), VF-41 black aces would once again be drawn into combat in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. VF-41 black aces would spearhead the first strikes against Taliban targets in Afghanistan; they were given some of the toughest targets at the beginning of Operation Enduring Freedom such as Al Qaeda training camps, airfields, air defense sites and bunkers. The first target hit was the Shin and airbase in western Afghanistan where the Taliban were storing a lot of aircraft, radar and vehicles. After their return to the US in November, VF-41 black aces had hit 82% of all their targets during the first month of the war.
Shortly after their return in late 2001, VF-41 blac aces transitioned to the F/A-18F Super Hornet and was predestinated VFA-41.
On October 18, 2002 four VFA-41 aviators died when two F/A-18Fs collided in mid-air off the coast of California
During Operation Iraqi Freedom, Two F/A-18Es and two F/A-18Fs from VFA-14 were forward deployed to USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) in late March 2003. These F/A-18s were requested to boost the air refueling capabilities of CVW-14 as well as qualified Forward Air Controllers (the F/A-18Fs). The section of F/A-18s flew from USS Nimitz to USS Lincoln, a 2700 mile trip. On April 6, the Hornets returned to USS Nimitz. During the war VFA-41 expended laser guided bombs, as well as JDAM and AGM-65 Maverick missiles.
