Tezuka events in Adelaide and Sydney

Postby DrFrag » 18 years ago

There's currently a Tezuka exhibition in Sydney at the Art Gallery of New South Wales:

It finishes on April 29th.

And from the 1st to 8th of May, the Mercury Cinema in Adelaide is showing a Tezuka anime special:

Unfortunately I'll miss the anime in Adelaide because I'll still be in Sydney. :d oh:

That's amazing. I saved both pages. I'd really be looking forward to seeing the live action Vampires.

We don't get a lot of that in New England. The closest we had was an old anime film festival in New York city. Monday it was mecha anime from the 80s, and then the next day they showed Tezuka. Most were works from him that were easy to get: The 90s Black Jack series, Metropolis, and the Phoenix movie. But they did show Marvelous Melmo, something I've been interested in seeing. :)

Thank you for sharing Dr Frag

I think Australia is pretty lucky as far as anime goes. We get a lot shown here on TV so there's a big fan base. Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Beebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion and other anime have been shown on free-to-air television, along with a huge amount of children's anime.

I'll let you know about the Syney exhibition after I see it. It's moving to San Francisco in June, but I'm not sure if we have any forum members from there.

23 minutes. I'm not sure why they've written it that way, it's not standard here.

Lol, I agree! How ironic. Did you get to see the exhibition at all? I wouldn't leave until I'd had about an hours viewing experience :astro: I did an essay for visual art studies on Osamu Tezuka, so the exhibition was a great help. Thanks for putting that link up about the anime special! I had no idea! I really wanna see Marine Express.
