A sad end for Lugosi & Chaney Jr.

I just watched "The Black Sleep" a film with a cast of horror's biggest names. John Carridine, Bela Lugosi, & Lon Chaney Jr. However, the main role was played by Basil Rathbone, while the others were reduced to minor roles of babbling idiots.

Lugosi was a mute servant, Chaney was a idiot given to sudden violence, and Carridine was a nut case who thought he was liberating Jerusalem from the 'infidels.'

While I enjoyed the film, I was saddened to see these once-promindent actors reduced to taking such roles as these. Of course, they are all dead now, but that they were cast aside by the industry & forced to beg for these table scraps is really sad.

Yes yes...
But that was not the end of Chaney....
He even played in A movies with Vincent Price... One of my favorites...

Hitler's brain had only 1 redeeming thing, & that was the living head in a jar. I wonder if the creators of Futurama were inspired by it? I do not think I saw that other one, though.

A trailer with Chaney and price
