Charlton Heston, the passing of a great man.

I am so sad today, a great man...one of the few Hollywood stars who ever supported Civil Rights in the 1960's and a dedicated American has passed.

Charlton Heston shouldn't be remembered for movies like Planet of the Apes or Ben Hur or the Ten Commandments but for those times when he was an activist not for his own greed or his own ego like so many of today's freak show actors do these days but because the time was right, the purpose was right and he believed despite his detractors that he was doing right.

Goodnight Chuck, may Reverend King welcome you with arms wide. You were an act of class and a man of honor.

Regardless of what one thinks about his politics, he was a great speaker, had an awesome voice, and was in some really great movies that still hold up today. I have a lot of respect for him for bowing out of the public eye and saying goodbye to his fans when he knew he was getting sick. He'll be missed.

Don't forget that Soylent Green is people!

Sayonara.
