Jim Henson

Postby MightyAstro » 16 years ago

I've been absent for a little while. I've been collecting a series of fan-made podcasts about the works of the great puppeteer Jim Henson. I'm still downloading them. :)

They're wonderful shows full of music and information about The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock and other beloved Henson Productions. :w00t:

If any of you are Henson fans I strongly recommend them to you. The website is called The MuppetCast. :D

Oh man, I LOVED Fraggle Rock as a kid. I used to always watch it on The Disney Channel... back when the Disney Channel was cool :shifty:

The way Jim left the world was so....I can't find the right word for it, Strep Throat? Cancer, a heart attack I would have been at ease with but when he died from simple strep where medical prevention was available....I couldn't handle it, that was not the way such a wonderful human being should have been stripped fromt he world.

You're right. It was such a needless tragedy. I understand that Jim sadly kept putting off seeking medical assistance until he was extremely sick.
By the time he went to hospital it was too late. The gave him the best treatment they could, but his condition was too far advanced. What a terrible shame.

I've completely caught up with the podcasts. They come out once a week so I can easily download them all one by one to add to the collection now.

I'm glad to be able to come back regularly again now that that's all done.

Jim Henson, Walt Disney and Osamu Tezuka are the quintessential trio of media entertainment moguls to me. :D :w00t:  :) ;)
