Watch it and find out why!!! It is only one of several known banned Sci Fi films from Britain. Never shown anymore, you may never have heard of it! :w00t:

I can't find any indication it was banned anywhere. In the UK it currently has a PG rating.

Another conspiration  What is it this time? Conspiration to ban old B-movies. cybotron's right: those films are banned because they don't earn a lot of money. More recent movies with a lot of CGI earn a lot more money so the old ones get sold so low that they almost stop to exist :D
Tell me cybotron... is the movie explicitly banned, as in "you go to jail if you are caught with it", or as in "it is very difficult to find today" ?

Yes that would seem to be in order for such a topic....
I think it proper to say that censorship exists for many reasons.
Some are conspiratorial, while others are just matters of thought control and youth control. :tenma:
But any student who desired could research the matter on their own, no reason to pave the way as such, and point out actual banned films that might be offensive. Some films and books are offensive to certain governments and powerful institutions. Freedom of speech and of arts is relative at best.
There are regimes that....
But no Fafner... Sci fi was used to put forth forbidden ideas and concepts.
That regimes and societies, some of which are now extinct, did not allow to be put forth. HG wells, Jules Verne, Star Trek.... ETc.
Some think that Star Trek was banned.

Perhaps the fact that it was the same type of story as The Day the Earth Stood Still that authorities may have disliked it.

Yes that would make sense. But also the war had Magnetically aligned elements in Mussolini and Hitler. Ultra could plainly see this King of the North King of the South Geopolitical and Geo theological force being manipulated. The effect on the "inscectoid intelligentsia" was not considered in TDTESS but is considered boldly in Cosmic Monsters. ULTRA, British Intelligence, had to "Think Tank" Cosmic Warfare scenarios. Cosmic Warfare scenarios are my expertise.
Contraction of the British Empire after divestment of the middle east....
Shell Oil expansion into Arabia and the subsequent transfer of U.S. wealth from America to Arabia....
Inevitable war with the insectoid overlords of the emerging Arabian hegemony.
The Spider would represent the Arabian Geopolitic. :astro: :ninja: :tenma:
