Thanks! Happy new year to you too! It's a little early for me, but many members of the forum are already there! :D

How about this, Strange Wings? I've loved this song when I first heard it, and this was the only version I've known until iTunes. I was shocked when I learned that the singer doesn't even speak French because overall, her pronounciation is amazingly pure! :o hmy: Her diction is way better than mine!!!

:D Same procedure as every year, faf... er, James! Watched it again at 11:40 pm. It's amazing how this thing can stay funny after being watched that many times.

Here you go... The big illusion of time. :D

Ooh, I like this version so much! Thankyou for the link.
Yeah, I too would have thought about the singer being as good in french as in her native language. She must have practised pretty hard until she was able to perform that well.
This song has been covered by plenty of artists; even Montserrat Caballé did a version of it years ago:

I love Montse's voice!

I agree, I think she is amazing. She totally sounds like a native French speaker. It was only after I heard she couldn't speak French that I realized there were just a few words here and there that could have been slightly better, but that's being really nitpicking.

I had never heard of this singer. I have to say that I prefer the simplicity of Ana's voice in this particular song.

I think I wouldn't have noticed, even if I listened very closely. I guess I'd have to be native french to percept such details. :D I have to say, the sound of the video isn't the only thing I enjoy.

:) I like both versions. The softness of Ana's voice as well as Montse's operatic warmth.
