Has anyone else heard of this series? It's a manga from 1986/7 that first gained fame for being the first manga to be fully serialized in America. I found it earlier this year, when I was trying to go through as many old-school manga and anime that I could.

In short, a fourteen year-old Japanese girl named Mai Kuju has 450 Gs of natural psychic power, and she is soon pursued by the Wisdom Alliance, who are either going to use her to control the world or to destroy her. She and her father go on the run, and throughout the series, Mai fights other psychic children and is helped along by a college student named...crap, I forgot his name.

I've got a few of the original comic issues, and I've managed to find the three volumes at my library. It's a very well done series, and the art is amazing. However, there's moderate nudity and occasional-yet-graphic violence, so that's all I could warn anyone about.

So anyway, has anyone else read this?

Sorry about the double post, but I needed to mention these...the series was known for its stunningly detailed panoramic scenes:

I happen to be a fan of Ikegami, but there are some works from him I haven't read yet: one is his version of Spiderman. The other is this one., bacause it was edited in my conutry i the early 90s, thus it's almost unfindable.
But I've read the rest: Crying Freeman, Sanctuary, Strain...
