If it could do my job, it would be well worth it! I could work for a few years to pay for him and then retire and let him to all the work!

There was a B&W Astroboy episode with that very plot; but it turned out differently than how people expected it. I believe this story was inspired by one of Ray Bradbury's tales. Marionettes was also featured in Ray Bradbury Theater. The Astroboy episode was 124, Parting Gift (104, Double Trouble), as such was in the middle of the 3rd season and was the very last one in the English language version.
