Gizmag article says that the car sold for a mere $12K after the filming, & now is expected to bring $5M!

I would like to see a competition, no a fight between this, the 60s Batmobile, & the Mach 5 to see which is the best for fighting. :p

Sounds great! Although I think Bond's Aston Martin DB5 would be the likely winner, because of his license to kill and the car's machine guns. We know Batman has vowed not to kill! I think he would mostly be dodging bullets amd using a smoke screen. Of course, the Mach 5 would probably be doing that jumping thing it does. Yes, that would be a competition I'd like to see! I  :astro: :)

And the Batmobile would totally win.

Well, if you are talking about the Michael Keeton Batmobile, then you may have a case, but I tought we were talking the Adam West Batmobile (also known as a souped up Ford Futura) because all the automobiles in question made their screen debuts (both big and little screens) in the sixties! Calling the moderator! I  :astro: :D

Not a Ford Futura, but THE Lincoln Futura, as in a 1 of a kind concept car. There may have been 2, but so what. And "souped up"? There was not really all that much needed to turn it into the Batmobile, as it was already awesome & 1/2!

Oh, now I see . . . LINCOLN . . . that's VERY DIFFERENT!! Great link BTW! I never knew about that concept car -- speaking of cool cars from the 60's....My folks had an Oldsmobile JETFIRE -- talk about "zoom zoom zoom" -- I was a little kid and remember how they had to give it a special alcohol mixture. It was the first car I remember "dieseling" -- Dad didn't drive it hard enough to keep it happy!!

We still had it when Astro Boy premiered in 1964, and I felt pretty cool in my JETfire with a ROCKET engine yessireee! :d evil:
