Because we used G.I. peanut butter as candlelight in the jungle sometimes.
We found it would burn. And sometimes guys would throw their Peanut butter ration into a trash pit and burn it to warm themselves,and the cans would explode. And everyone would laugh and go back to their foxholes. Sometimes we would get no resupply and guys would go back and dig out the unliked and unappetizing rations out of the trash. But I digress.
