I remember someone had posted that Walt Disney had gotten his idea of Mickey Mouse from Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy, but I'm not sure. Could someone give me a little info about this?

Mickey Mouse made his debut in 1928.

That predates Astro Boy, who first appeared as Captain Atom in 1951.

I don't know much about Mickey Mouse, so I wouldn't know. Thanks for clearing that up though :)

however,Tezuk and Disney did meet each other and like the other's creations and great works and when they both died they're last words involved their work. but Tezuka outlived Dinsey :(

Dude it was actually the other way around. Astro Boy was actually inspired by Pinocchio if I'm correct, his big brown eyes were inspired by Betty Boop's big eyes. Mickey Mouse might have had something to do with it other than the fact that he's Disney's mascot.

Tezuka and disney met at the 1964 worlds fair. Disney said that he loved astro boy and wanted to make something just like it. I'm 95 percent sure a picture exists of the two together, but that disney company has all available prints, and most likely wont release them, for fear that by agnologing they know of Tezuka and astro boy, that they also know of kimba the white lion.
