I've been using Windows Movie Maker since i was 15 and I feel like i've outgrown it. I want to use something better but there are so many out there I don't know which one is best, has anyone got any advice?

I was going to get Magix Movie Edit Pro 16 but then Sony Movie Studio HD 10 caught my eye, now I just feel dizzy. Help please.

All I want to use it for is making videos like amv's or trailer stuff. o_o

I use Sony vegas and just updated to Vegas 10. It is about the best for the money. If I could not afford Vegas I'd go with one of thecheaper Sony products. For VST plugins and presets Sony is my choice for ease of use. :w00t:

I use Sony Vegas for my videos. It's WAY better than movie maker. I use Pinnacle Studio for gameplay videos and it came with my Dazzle HD. But I still use Vegas for Audio and video editing it's a beast program.

Well, I just got Adobe Premiere (CS4 because I'm not running Windows 7 yet) at work. I'll let you know how it goes. From the limited work I've done in Windows Movie Maker, I-Movie and Flash, all I can say is YIKES!!! They all seem very unintuitive, and the documentation is weak at best. Yet, lot's of people do incredible things with them, so it's probably just me.

windows movie maker will work withoug a capture card but you won't beable to import video from a vcr or dv camara, if you have a digital camara that can take movies and put them on an sd card you should be able to use those in movie maker and you can capture from a webcam.
