Sorry if you don't see much of me for awhile

Postby MightyAstro » 14 years ago

But it's starting to get very hot and humid and the area where I have my computer set up has no air-conditioning handy. I take the summer heat very badly and even with a fan or water-cooler I don't feel much like sitting at my computer browsing the net.

Last month was remarkably cool for November, but now summer is kicking in and it will probably stay hot until approximately the end of April. But I'll try to still occasionally visit and say hello to you my friends.

I wish you all the very best for Christmas. :santa:

Incidentally my lady friend in America is very pleased that I hate the heat. She suffers from hot flushes (perhaps I've mentioned this before) and she's been hoping for a husband who will want to have a home set up with air-conditioning running as often as possible. I do love air-conditioning and I miss having the full access to it like I had when I was living in my own rented unit before moving back in with my family.

I've recommended that she doesn't come until at least May 2012, so that things will be as cool for her as possible. I'm very excited still. :D

Thank you Androids and Astronomical. Merry Christmas to you both.

And Astronomical I take it you mean over in America it would seem cold to her by comparison with here, and you're probably right. Australia's heat is very humid by nature and can be dry. We do have some air-conditioning systems in some upstairs rooms which we use a bit, but downstairs where my space is there is none. It's all just one big room underneath the top of the house, though it's built of bricks which do help make it slightly cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

Her hot flushes thankfully aren't anywhere near as bad as they used to be. At one time she says she couldn't even bear to bundle up in winter. Believe it or not.

If it's really necessary even when she does come in the cooler time I've promised to arrange a bed with air-conditioning for her. Somehow we'll manage.

We couldn't be bothered to install air conditioners, we just use the two fans we have. I'm not such a big fan (eek! the puns! :p ) of air conditioners, especially when it is right above the bed
