Sad news of old friend's passing.

I recieved an e-mail this morning from a guy I served with in Japan of the loss of a mutual friend from 25 years ago.
Sgt. Masayoshi Kurabara was just starting out with the Japanese National Constabulary force when I first met him in 1986 at Atsugi Naval Air Station. Our group of four sailors quickly took him into our fold and he was the one Japanese who had the most and best influence on my time in country. Gifted historian, excellent linguist, he enjoyed taking part in Samurai pagentry and was an excellent artisan of archery.
Masayoshi was a shift sargent and doing an accident investigation near Ayase City when he was struck and killed by a speeding car on highway 16 last week. He was pride and professionalism, always proud to wear the uniform and serve his country. I will miss him dearly.
