Birds and Fish Drop Dead on New Years Eve - AR

On new years eve, an estimated 5000 blackbirds fell dead from the sky within a one mile radius of small town Beebe, AR.

Same night, 100,000 fish were found dead only 125 miles away from where the black birds were.

Pollutants are suspected in the fish killing (which is odd since it only affected one kind of fish, the Drum fish) and fireworks could have cause the birds to go into shock and fall to the ground.

Me? This sounds too fishy (no pun intended). I mean, both incidents happened in little more than 100 miles of each other! If that's not weird and smelling of conspiracy, I don't know what is.

Is it the end of the world as we know it? Or is it the beginning of the next Zombie outbreak? Either way, I'm psyched.

Yeah. What's weird is that with the fish it was all one species, but it was more than one species of bird (mostly the red wings, but some other generic black birds as well...)

Glad I don't live in Arkansas right now.

Maybe some of the remaining fireworks fell into the water? I'm willing to blame it entirely on the light show.

But if that was the case, why would it only effect one species of fish?

*excited*

Good point.

It could be the kind of chemicals in the fireworks. Some things will only affect things in certain ways. Like, some chemicals can trigger sex changes in some species, and kill or otherwise harm different species.

But if it all happened in that one area, then I'm still willing to believe it was the fireworks.

..(?) maby it could be this thing i read about in class..its called "strange rains" and its about animals in large number falling from the sky;as if to say it was a new type of rain;or it was unexplainable like a dimentional hole in time or clouds taking up animals in storms..it sounds odd to some people but i dont really suspect anything but the 100 kelometers away this is odd. maby we should just let scientests explain stuff like this :D leave it to the experts

Such bird kills are not unknown... The bible describes such
a bird kill in the times of Moses.
The Iraelites ate them. It is reported that some of
the people that ate the birds died while they were still chewing on them.
And cooking did not destroy the toxin.
The birds were toxic. Some specie of Quail was involved. :ninja:
Anything that can kill fish and birds like that, can kill men. Or at least sicken men.
They won't tell the truth regardless. National security lid clamp down.
Full alert all stations possible biological or chemical attack.
