This had nothing to do with the thread
Forum Moderators and Rules/Guidelines, so I created a new thread. Astronomical girl, I can't believe I'm asking you to stick to the topic
again. I don't have it in me to ask you to again and again anymore.
We were indeed hacked back in March 2006. I spoke of it a few days ago in
this post.
To make things clear, I do not mind one bit that she asked if we ever had hackers and I am absolutely willing to share the story of what happened to us. I even searched on the forum and found a post that gave more details: basically, we were hacked, the hacker became the administrator and started deleting threads. Vergere did some ressearch to find out how he managed to do that and found a weakness in the forum software we were using back then. He used that weakness to hack the forum himself and, once he became the administrator, he banned the hacker and managed to contact Mark, who restored the forum and then upgraded the software so we would be safe. Vergere's hacking had to be the most generous hacking ever.

I linked to my post because the answer was there, it wasn't that I didn't want to reply. It's perfectly okay if she had not seen it, after all the topic said it was about active members, not about hackers. It was easier for me to give the link than to type it again, that's all.
Now I'll explain my reaction. In the Forum Moderators and Rules/Guidelines, in her previous post, she asked the following:
speaking about inactive members don't their profiles take up space?
We were speaking of inactive members and what happened with their avatar, and that was on topic since we were speaking about avatars, no problem until then. Whether inactive members were taking up space wasn't relevant so it was already off topic, but I ignored it and did reply anyway. I did write in the end that it wasn't really our business because only Mark knows how much database we use and can control it. In other words, any discussion over that is absolutely pointless because we can only speak "in theory" between us; the reason why I mentioned it was because I didn't want us to keep going on that, even if I didn't say so explicitely.
Then Astronomical girl asked over hackers... as I said I don't mind replying to that question, but not in the rules thread! This is an important thread, I don't want any kind of general question over the forum in there. I want to keep it only for the purpose of discussing rules and guidelines! People may not read the announcements anymore if we use it for any kind of question. Given that I have already warned Astronomical girl many times on the forum, plus I have spoken to her in private too, I am definitely less patient by now.
@Astro Forever,
originally,Astro Forever,i didn't expect you to make a thread to answer my question

but thank you anyway for answering, and i am keeping in mind about keeping things ontopic 3-l
