Well FINALLY (thank you for the extra inspiration, MightyAstro!) I've posted something I created on Deviantart. It's one of two paintings I made several years ago as part of a summer-long "paint-a-thon" that raised funds for our local historical society.
This is from a wonderful old farm just a couple miles from my house (I can hear the cows mooing every day!). We go there for veggies, fruits, eggs, etc. and that summer a bunch of us went to different places every weekend to paint. It was a lot of fun, and hope to do some more serious painting this summer. I have another scene on my work computer I'll upload next week.

But then I need some ASTROCENTRIC work!!

Thanks, U&A - yes, I love painting, and there's been too many gaps between experiences. One reason, I work as a graphic designer, so I come home pretty "emptied out!" But since hanging out here, see all the great fan art and fiction, I feel inspired!!

Wow. That's very good actually. There's no way I would ever be able to paint like that. my paintings look more like finger paint drawings done by toddlers.
Great to see you're using your gallery too.
Out of curiosity, have you taken art courses in collage/university before?

Thanks again, it really means a lot to me coming from you guys!
Yes, Dr. Jerk, in fact my degree is in Fine Art (I had studio courses in oil, watercolor, printmaking, ceramics, and drawing). But I always had a passion for graphic design, and even though my original plan was to be an elementary school teacher, I ended up doing advertising and publication design. I hated working in NYC, so I'm not as successful as I could have been.
As for your own experience, don't worry if what comes out isn't what you want to see. Just give yourself the chance to enjoy playing in paint (take a course if you have the chance - a little guidance can make a big difference).

That is so cool! You should do some more on your days off.
I probably should put some of my art on DA, but I misplaced my scanner cord. XD

Whoa, that's terrific!! You must be very gifted in painting! There's not many artists who are able to convey emotions and impressions that well.
Inspiration can be strange sometimes, isn't it? They use to strike when you're least expecting it.
Thanks for the wonderful picture, AprilSeven!
