Little Shop of Horrors

Hi everyone. I just wanted to talk about a musical that my high school produced recently. It's an off Broadway musical called Little Shop of Horrors, and I heard it's based off of an old 60's era, black and white, low budget, horror comedy film cliche of the same name. It's set in the 1960's in a small unsucesssful flower shop. The story starts when a nerdy employee at the flower shop named Seymore finds a strange Venus flytrap like plant. He names it Audrey II, after a women he loves who works in the flower shop. After pricking his finger on a rose thorne, he finds out the plant has a taste for human blood. The Audrey II eventually atracts custumers and makes Seymore famous. Soon the plant gets bigger and learns to talk. The Audrey II ends up eating other people, including Audrey's abusive boyfriend Orin (he has the 60's "bad boy" look with the slicked back hair and leather jacket and everything),the store owner Mr. Mushnik, and even Audrey. Seymore meets a lady who wants to take small cuttings of Audrey II and sell them to florists everywhere. Seymore realizes that that was Audrey II's plan all along. He tries to kill the giant plant, but it has become so big that it was indestructable, and ends up eating Seymore. The Do Wop Girls say that afterword, the lady sold cuttings of the Audrey II across the US and warned the audiance through song to "Don't Feed the Plants". The rest of the cast, dressed with flower petal costumes, come to the stage to take a bow. I liked the musical, but it was so sad that most of the main cast became plant food. I especially liked the 60's style musical numbers, and the acting was awsomeness!
