Recently, I sold off most of my Sailor Moon manga collection - which I cultivated in 7th-8th grade - to make space and prepare for the new Kodansha English edition this fall. (Yes, this is real.) As of now, I've used that money to get several things I've been waiting for, and all these items are expected to arrive over the next week or so. Things like...

"Katei Kyoushi" by Yasuyuki Okamura
Total Price: $24.99
Made: 1990
Okamura is one of my favourite Japanese singers on account of how he's so...different. He's hugely inspired by Prince, and his discography bounces between soft pop music to wild electronic rock. This album's intent was to have all nine songs different from each other, and this album is weird in a way that I find entertaining. One of my favourite songs is Biscuit Love, which reminds me of my trip to Regina, and working at the A&W last fall.
What I thought was cool was how the Obi was still intact (this being the removable cardboard label, as seen in the above picture), and it was the original 1990 edition rather than the 2001 reprint.

Here's two glamour shots of him from the lyrics booklet. He's adorable, isn't he?
The same day, I discovered the following...

Dirty Pair: Affair on Nolandia
Total Price: $1
Made: 1994
I found this yesterday at an annual book sale that takes place at a local mall. I have a secret fondness for the original Dirty Pair, and since it's hard to find affordable DP media, I got this right away. This very movie retails on eBay for upwards of $50 on DVD, and as well, anything with the old Streamline Pictures dub is just hard to get a hold of. I haven't watched this yet, but I plan to as soon as I can get access to our less savage VCR.
Hilariously, I found this in the kids' section. Not so hilariously, I also found "Barefoot Gen" in the kids' section. Since I personally once read it as a 10 year old and got messed up for a week, I moved it to the right book section.
More later! And man, I'm not even kidding about that.
