ANOTHER OF ASTRO BOY'S GODFATHERS PASSES ON!

Famed Anime director Osamu Dezaki has passed on at the age of 67 of lung cancer on April 17th! Dezaki directed many an episode of Astro Boy as well as other Tezuka characters such as: Black Jack, Dororo, and Goku. Other characters he directed were Lupin III, and Golgo 13!

Another one of the great anime directors I was afraid to see go anytime soon. So very sad.

I mostly remember his name from the anime Nobody's Boy: Remi. I had no idea he directed many of the episodes from the 1963 and 1980 Astro Boy anime. He was also one of the episode directors for Jetter Mars as well.
Huge loss to the world of Astro Boy and the anime industry. May he rest in peace.
